Domestic plane forced to land at NAIA over engine trouble

MANILA, Philippines – A local airplane bound for Puerto Princesa was forced to land at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after experiencing minor engine trouble, airport staff said Tuesday.

The Air Asia Zest plane with flight number Z2-428 landed at NAIA 1 about 1 p.m. after radioing the airport’s command center. It resumed its flight at 2:10 p.m. following repairs, said the staff who requested anonymity for not being authorized to speak to media.

There were no injuries reported.
