Bicam meets to reconcile conflicting provisions in 2014 budget
MANILA, Philippines – The congressional bicameral conference committee met on Tuesday to reconcile the conflicting provisions in the proposed 2014 national budget.
The House of Representatives approved the P2.268 trillion budget proposal of Malacanang while the Senate passed its own version of the budget bill, which was P3.2 billion lower than the House version.
The P3.2 billion cut in the Senate version represents the P200 million Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) each of the 15 senators who gave up their allocation next year for a total of P3 billion while the P200M represents the PDAF of Vice President Jejomar Binay’s office, which he also decided to forgo.
