Body of 1 of 2 missing PAF pilots found off Puerto Princesa, Palawan

MANILA, Philippines – The body of one of the two missing pilots of the ill-fated OV-10 Bronco plane that crashed last June has been found in Palawan, the military said.

Brigadier General Conrado Parra, head of Joint Task Force Bronco, told INQUIRER.net that the remains of Major Jonathan Ybanez were retrieved on Wednesday, eight kilometers east of BM Beach  in Puerto Princesa.

A wreckage of the plane was found last Nov. 23 located 36 meters below. Parra added the wreckage remained at the seabed, and will be checked by investigators.

The body of Ybanez will be brought to Sangley Point on Thursday afternoon.

His co-pilot, First Lieutenant Abner Trust Nacion remained missing. Their plane crashed on June 23 during a night flying proficiency flight.
