‘Yolanda’ damage hits P24.54B—NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines—The damage to property and infrastructure caused by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan) has reached P24.54 billion, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday said.

The NDRRMC said that damage to agriculture was about P11.36 billion, including P5.168 billion in crops and P2.184 billion in livestock, while damage to infrastructure was pegged at 13.182 billion, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported.

Meanwhile, the estimated cost of government assistance to the affected families has reached P528 million.
