USC baby warriors win opener

THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors got their bid for the Passerelle title off to a rousing start after they blasted the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), 74-55, in the first day of competition in the National Finals of the Milo-backed BEST Center Twin Tournament yesterday at the University of Assumption gym in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Kent Malazarte scored 17 of USC’s 21 third period points to break the game wide open as it put them ahead by 20, 58-38, after leading by 12 at halftime.

Paolo Coquilla paced AdDU with 12 markers.

In the other game of the same division, the mighty Chiang Kai Shek College defeated the hometown Angeles University Foundation, 90-75. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
