Cepca qualifying tourney on

THE CEBU Professionals Chess Association’s (Cepca) monthly qualifying tournament for November will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Handuraw Pizza in Gorordo Ave., Cebu City.

Tournament director Jun Olis said the competition will follow an active 5-Round Swiss System concept with a time control of 15 minutes per player.

This is the penultimate qualifying tournament and the winner will join the cast of monthly champions, who will qualify for the Grand Finals next month.

Those who are already in are lawyer Jong Melendez, Percival Fiel, Rey Flores, Freddie Casagan, Maggie Dionson, Manny Abucay, Jun Kidlat, Peterson Sia, Harrison Chua, Domy Pialan and NM Arnold Cadiz. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
