2nd AFC C-License Coach exam on

THE second edition of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) C-License Coach Certificate Course offered by the Cebu Football Association (CFA) this year will kick off today at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Some 25 football coaches and trainers will test not just their wits but also their luck in the rigid training and seminar that will be handled by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) headed by German Thomas Roy, a consultant of PFF’s Grassroots Development program.

Cebu City recently welcomed nine Cebuano passers of the C-Licensing examination that was conducted free of charge by the CFA.

The licensing exams were implemented by the PFF to strengthen its thrust to ban unlicensed coaches from handling teams by next year. And for this, CFA had to pay an expensive coaching course to give local coaches to obtain a license.

CFA spent P200,000 to host the coaching course for free. Participants ars also provided free meals, venue, uniform and equipment.

The usual registration fee for a C-Licensing course is P5,000, while the B-License costs P7,500. The coveted A-License course comes with a P10,000 price tag. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
