MANILA, Philippines — A jeepney dispatcher was killed by a motorcycle-riding assailant as he was hanging around a burger joint in his neighborhood on Sunday night, in Quezon City.

Antonio Centino, 61, died on the spot after being shot once by a lone gunman on a motorcycle in Barangay (village) Bagbag.

SPO1 Randy Bantillo, case investigator, said the victim was attacked in front of an Angel’s Hamburger outlet along Quirino Highway.

Centino was then watching videos on his cellphone at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday when a man walked up to him.

The gunman approached the victim from behind and shot him before boarding a parked motorcycle to make his escape.

Bantillo said Centino suffered a lone gunshot wound at the back of his head, with the bullet exiting at the front.
