MANILA, Philippines – Fuel shortage has hit Eastern Samar, one of the provinces smashed by monster typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan), a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Wednesday.
In a report by Radyo Inquirer reporter Isa Avendano, Eastern Samar Representative Ben Evardone was quoted as saying that the fuel lack is hampering relief operations and paralyzing the whole province where scores of typhoon victims are in danger of going hungry.
The same report said Evardone is urging oil companies to supply their province with fuel as soon as possible to avoid disrupting the distribution of relief goods there. Nestor Corrales
