MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has already approved the release in advance the salaries for Nov. 30 of judges and court personnel in areas affected by typhoon Yolanda.
Aside from that, high court’s Information Chief Theodore Te said the high court also allowed judges and court personnel to avail themselves of a two-week calamity leave from Nov. 11 to Nov. 25. These can be obtained by judges and court personnel in Eastern Samar, Western Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Palawan. There are a total of 50 and 109 first and second level courts, respectively, in those areas.
“The judges and court personnel in the affected areas need all the support and assistance,” Te said.
The high court also ordered the Executive Judges to make status reports of their court personnel, the condition of the courts and the extent of damage.
The Office of the Court Administrator has been required to determine other needs of the judges and court personnel.
“These interim alleviation measures, among others still forthcoming, are prompted by the series of calamitous events that have affected judges and court personnel in these areas,” Te said.
