MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno suspended work in courts in Metro Manila as of 12 noon Friday due to Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan).
The suspension order covers the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, Sandiganbayan and the lower courts.
For courts outside Metro Manila, the Chief Justice said the Executive Judges could decide if suspension of work was necessary.
