Warning out on fake PDI editor

/ 03:10 AM November 06, 2013

The Philippine Daily Inquirer’s corporate affairs office warns the public that persons introducing themselves as Joseph Alcantara and Angelo Perez have been calling a number of companies, claiming to be an assistant editor or an employee of the Inquirer.

Both persons are neither working for PDI nor have been employed in the company.

According to complaints reaching the Inquirer, Joseph Alcantara and Angelo Perez have been calling several companies to tell them that their employees have not been paying certain loans.

They then warned these companies that the Inquirer would be publishing ads about the longstanding loans if payments are not made soon, and that they should contact an Attorney Ariel Montes at 534-5084 or Joseph Alcaraz at 535-1957 to settle the amount.

If contacted by persons making such claims or threats, the public can notify PDI corporate affairs at 897-8808 or send an e-mail at [email protected].

“We would like to reiterate that these people are not employees of the Inquirer and we do not resort to such scams,” the office stressed.
