QCU-FC ready for UFL match against Agila FC

/ 06:36 AM November 04, 2013

After scoring a huge victory over United Football League (UFL) champions Stallions Santa Lucia last Oct. 20, the Cebu Queen City United Football Club (QCU-FC) is eager to take on Agila FC tomorrow for its final elimination game at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

QCU-FC routed Stallions FC, 4-1, to temporarily lead Group C with seven points coming from two wins and one draw. A win against Agila FC (0-2-1) will solidify the team’s hold of the top spot in Group C.

According to QCU-FC head coach Mario Ceniza, the team is highly motivated and is prepared for today’s match.

“Agila FC’s weakness is on the left and right wing, so we will take advantage of that weakness,” Ceniza said. “We will be implementing the same game plan when we won over the Stallions FC.”

Ceniza said that although the team has already advanced to the next round, a win against Agila FC is still very important. “It will seal a statement in the tournament that we are a force to be reckoned with.”

Meanwhile, former UFL champion Philippine Air Force (PAF) will face the Stallions FC before the QCU-FC-Agila match. Both teams are just one point behind QCU-FC.

Agila FC is still struggling in the tournament as it has yet to win a game so far. But Ceniza said his players, particularly Ariel Cahilig, Pintho Kabulo and Ahmed Cheick Camara, should still step up against Agila FC.

“Even though Agila FC has no wins, they are still a dangerous team because they had a lot of close call attempts to the goal in each of their matches and they are very good when it comes to counter attacking their opponents,” Ceniza said.
