MANILA, Philippines—Two people were hurt when an improvised bomb exploded in Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Thursday, a military spokesman said.
Colonel Prudencio Asto of the 6th Infantry Division said the victims, who were on board a tricycle, were on their way to Poblacion, Ampatuan when the improvised explosive device went off near Malatimon.
Norhadi Kamaru and Tokan Eskak, both 30, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Investigation by the 65 Explosive Ordnance Disposal team of the Philippine Army showed the explosive device was composed of 105mm ammo, Asto said.
Another improvised bomb was found a few hours later at village Kapinpilan in Ampatuan, Maguindanao. The EOD team successfully defused the explosive device, he said.
