Authorities looking into cost of damage, cause of fire in Robinsons Galleria
MANILA, Philippines—Authorities are still verifying the cost of damages from the fire that hit the Robinsons Galleria in Pasig City late Tuesday night, a city fire officer said.
Asked to confirm reports that roughly P10-million worth of properties were destroyed in the fire, Senior fire Officer 3 Fortunato Alde said investigators were still trying to estimate the amount as even goods from other floors were damaged by water and smoke.
Fortunato said the fire started from the third floor of the building along EDSA corner Ortigas Avenue. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
The blaze reached fifth alarm before it was put out at 5:46 a.m.
INQUIRER.net reported that guests of the Holiday Inn, whose lobby is connected to the mall, were evacuated.
