FRANCIS Gener Lambayan and Harland Hogan broke open Cebu City’s campaign in the 1st leg of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) – Philippine Lawn Tennis Association’s (Philta) Junior Tennis Championships as they bested separate foes in their respective groups yesterday at the Laray tennis courts in Sitio Laray, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

The 2012 Milo Little Olympics National Finals Most Outstanding Athletes awardee, Lambayan of the University of San Carlos (USC) dominated Heart Sotto, 6-0, 6-0, in the 14-Under Boys division. Hogan escaped with a thrilling 7-5, 6-4 victory over Bernie Blyre Buanghug in the 12-Under Boys division.

Unto breezed through the second round without breaking a sweat after he was awarded with a walk-over victory versus Marc Nicole Suson of Ozamis City in the 14-Under Boys division. Abad secured his win with a 6-1, 6-4 domination over fellow Cebuano Kyle Calooy in the 12-Under Boys. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
