A MAN was killed after the motorcycle he was driving hit a truck in an intersection at the North Reclamation Area in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Police identified the fatality as Nemesio Gonzaga.
Police said the motorcycle was running at high speed when it hit the rear portion of a Mitsubishi Canter truck driven by Guillermo Racines Jr., 36.
Racines told police the motorcycle was still several meters away when he turned left at the intersection of S. Osmeña and Kaoshiung Streets.
Police said the impact threw the victim from the motorcycle. His helmet was broken into two. The victim was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead.
Racines was detained at the Cebu City Integrated Traffic Operations Management (Citom) office pending the filing of charges against him./CORRESPONDENT APPLE M. TA-AS
