COP SHOOTS BROD
A POLICEMAN assigned at the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) shot his brother who had gone to his house to settle their personal differences.
SPO3 Rashid Hamis surrendered to a fellow policeman after Saturday night’s incident.
Hamis’ brother, Farouk, sustained two gunshot wounds in the left leg.
Police said Farouk attended a funeral wake before he went to the policeman’s house in sitio San Roque, barangay Mambaling.
The victim wanted to talk to Rashid regarding their conflict. The two, however, ended up arguing until Rashid shot his brother, police said.
Farouk was brought to the Visayas Community Hospital.

PUJ DRIVER SHOT IN ROAD RAGE
A JEEPNEY driver was wounded in a road rage incident in barangay Magay, Compostela town, northern Cebu.
Jeffrey Pepito was shot repeatedly by the driver of the motorcycle which he accidentally hit along a road yesterday morning.
Witnesses identified the alleged assailant as Elmer Cuba.
Police said Pepito, who was driving a passenger jeepney with plate number GXL-343, was about to make a U-turn when he hit Cuba, was driving a motorcycle with plate number GJ-1844.
Police said Cuba confronted Pepito then drew a gun and fired shots.
Cuba fled on foot, leaving his motorcycle behind, said SPO2 Pedro Enriquez, desk officer of the Compostela Police Station.
The victim was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City./CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
