THE GRASSROOTS relay run program of the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) will go on as scheduled and needs only finalization to officially start soon.

CCSC chairman Edward Hayco informed Cebu Daily News that just a few more kinks need to be ironed out next week before the grassroots relay run program goes full blast alongside three other activities aimed at boosting the development of Cebu City’s local athletes.

“We’ll finalize the grassroots level participants of the 12-and-under beach volleyball next week. The grassroots relay run will also proceed,” Hayco said.

Aside from the programs mentioned, the CCSC is also set to conduct a “Strength and Conditioning Workshop” geared towards developing the full potential of the local athletes of Cebu City by the end of this month.

During the workshop, the athletes will be lectured on topics touching on proper implementation of strength and conditioning and injury prevention and management programs; coaching technique and sports nutrition.

The different coaches of the city are the ones tasked to deliver these lectures.

After the November workshop, another clinic, intended for a more intensive seminar, is scheduled early next year.

Meanwhile, Hayco added that the CCSC’s free Zumba Workout scheduled every Sunday at 4 p.m. beside the beach volleyball sand court goes on as scheduled.

Hayco said the purpose of this activity is to encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
