Bulacan mayor surrenders motorcycle with fake documents

MANILA, Philippines—A Bulacan mayor surrendered his motor vehicle on Wednesday night after learning it was sold to him with illegal documents, police said Thursday.

Mayor Enrico Roque of Pandi Bulacan voluntarily surrendered a Kia Sorrento with plate number NOE 396 whose documents were fake, Highway Patrol Group director Police Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said.

Initial investigation said that the vehicle was sold to Roque for P700,000 by a certain Erlinda Calma who falsified the documents of the vehicle, said Espina. The motorcycle is registered under the name of Mary Rose Senarosa, he said.

A case of estafa and falsification of public documents will be filed against Calma, Espina said.
