MANILA, Philippines—Water level in the La Mesa Dam in Quezon City has gone down, a 990AM report said Thursday.
Citing Roy Badilla, head of the Hydrometeorology Division of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the report said that the dam’s water level had gone from being at an “overflow level” of 80.15 meters down to 80.10 meters.
Badilla said the water level went down as the dam supplied water to Metro Manila.
He however warned that the dam may still overflow if it rains in Metro Manila. Should the dam overflow, water will reach Tulyahan River in Fairview and will then head towards Malabon and Navotas City.
Meanwhile, two dams in Benguet have also released water as both have near spilling water levels, the report said.
Ambuklao Dam had 751 meters of water while Binga Dam had 568.75 meters which were both “near spilling level.” With Karen Boncocan, INQUIRER.net
