De Lima to oppose any bid to put Napoles under hospital arrest

MANILA, Philippines—Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Friday she would oppose any move by the camp of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles to put her under hospital arrest.

“It will depend upon her health condition. But on the side of the prosecution, as much as possible, we will block these kinds of moves,” De Lima said.

On Thursday morning, Napoles was rushed to a hospital because of pain, nausea and continuous vomiting.

Napoles was rushed to Southern Luzon Hospital in Sta. Rosa City at 1:20 a.m. but was also returned to her detention facility at Fort Sto. Domingo two hours later.
