CESAFI secondary football champions Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) scored another victory over rival Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) with a 5-1 decision in the 6th Pintaflores National Invitational Tournament in San Carlos City yesterday.

The Bosconians and the Magis Eagles met in the Cesafi secondary football championship round with DBTC emerging as winners.

Yesterday was no different as DBTC routed SHS-AdC with goals from Vincent Lobitos (15th minute), Angelo Ouano (30th and 60th minute), Keen Agot (45th minute) and Patrick Compra (89th minute).

The Bosconians will next face the formidable Barotac Iloilo FC in the Group A Under-16 division this afternoon. DBTC head coach Glenn Ramos said Barotac is the current regional meet champion. A win against them will give his boys a bigger chance of advancing to the semifinals.

“We should be consistent just like what we showcased today (yesterday) over SHS-AdC,” Ramos said.

But Ramos will be undermanned against Barotac as his ace players including Lobitos, Ouano, Adrian Cubero, his son Glenn Anthony Ramos, Christian Paez and some of his fourth year student players will be sent to the U-15 tournament for the Pilipinas Cup tomorrow in Nuvali, Laguna.

With this, Ramos will be left with a 10-man team in the Pintaflores meet. Still, he remains optimistic of the team’s chances. “We entered this tournament with a very high morale after we won Cesafi secondary title,” Ramos said. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
