Team 1, Team D win Dayon basketball opening tiffs

THE Dayon Basketball Club (DBC) Christmas League 2013 officially opened last Sunday at the Ramos gym attended by Cogon Ramos barangay captain Hon. Omar D. Durano, barangay Sta. Cruz councilor Hon. Reynold Zamora and Allan Glen “El Presidente” Abella.

Players coming from the nine participating teams were treated to a free luch tendered by club president, Allan Glen Zamora Abella before the start of the games.

In one of two opening matches, Team 1 five crushed Team A, 118-107. From a closely fought three quarters, Team 1 pulled away in the fourth for the 11-point win.

Aron Bacalla led Team 1 with 32 points while five other teammates scored in double figures including Ian Montesclaros (20), Buboy Gabato (20), Darwin Gabutan (18), Ben Dy (10) and Boy Cavalida (10). Nonoy Hipos paced Team A with 40 markers.

Earlier, Team D rallied from a, 16-20 first quarter deficit and nipped Team F, 89-83. Bryan Maning and Edsel Maning scored 20 points each for Team D while Jojo Baldago, Allyn Tan and Epoy Pila combined for 34 points for Team F.
