Cepca monthly chess resumes tomorrow

THE Cebu Professional Chess Association (Cepca) Monthly Qualifying Tournament will resume tomorrow starting at 1 p.m. at the Handuraw Pizza-Gorordo.

The monthly edition of the tournament will follow a 5-round Swiss System format and the Class A players will have a time control of 15 minutes, while the Class B competitors will be given 20 minutes.

Already secured of a seat for the grand finals in December are the past monthly winners in lawyer Jong Melendez (January), National Master Arnold Cadiz (February), Percival Fiel (March), Maggi Dionson (April), Manuel Abucay (May), Jun Kidlat (June), Peterson Sia (July), Rey Flores and Freddie Casagan (August), and Harisson Chua (September).

Some 25 members are expected to play in this tournament exclusively for members only. /Correspondent Jade S. Violeta
