MANILA, Philippines — Traffic remains heavy at a portion of EDSA’s southbound lane in Quezon City after a passenger bus caught fire Thursday morning, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.
Charlie Nosares of the MMDA Traffic Metro Base said that a commuter bus with plate number TXL 836 caught fire at EDSA Cubao around 9:40 a.m.
No one was hurt as the driver, conductor, and passengers were all able to get off the bus before it was engulfed by fire, he said.
Nozares said the fire has been put out at around 10:15 a.m., but traffic remained heavy along the area.
“The tail end of traffic is now at Scout Borromeo,” he said.
