Bus catches fire along EDSA, no one hurt—report

MANILA, Philippines — An air-conditioned bus caught fire along Edsa in Cubao, Quezon City, Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Thursday.

Emma Loristo of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said authorities were trying to extinguish the flames on the bus, plying the Edsa corner New York Street south-bound lane.

The driver and passengers of the bus, with plate number TXL 836 and operated by Commuters Bus, were able to escape safely.

Loristo said the incident caused heavy traffic in the area.
