Reunited topples Tipasi in PPBC hoop

TEAM Reunited backed by DHL, drubbed Tipasi, 99-85 Monday night in the ongoing elimination round of the Punta Princesa Basketball Club (PPBC)-2011 Second Conference basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym.

Reunited took a one-point lead, 25-24 in the first canto before roaring to a 47-37 lead at the half behind a 22-13 rally in the second led by former USJ-R Jaguar Ruben Abarquez and pointguard Richie Tecson. It also posted a 67-56 advantage going into the final quarter.

The win tied Reunited with its victims with 1-1 win-loss records.

Keith Dinoy and Yok Alesna led Reunited with 20 and 13 points, respectively with five other teammates also scoring in double figures.

Tata Mansubre paced Tipasi with a game-high 37 points while Dodong Espinosa and Dave Toliao combined for 27 markers.
