Storm signals lowered in Luzon–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Storm signals in most areas of Luzon were lifted as typhoon “Santi “(international name Nari) continued to hover over the West Philippine Sea.

Zambales and Bataan were placed under Signal No. 1, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said midday Saturday.

The typhoon was last observed 100 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 150kph.

It also slightly slowed down, and was moving west at 19kph.

Remy Liwanag of Pagasa told INQUIRER.net that the typhoon left the Philippine landmass early Saturday. It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday morning.

Sea travel remained risky over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
