/ 09:28 AM October 09, 2013

A TOTAL of 70 jeepney drivers were briefed on how to protect and preserve the environment during a symposium held last month in barangay Calaparan, Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Regional officer Rudito Gulmatico of the Land Transportation Office in Western Visayas served as the resource speaker.

Gulmatico focused his discussion on the theme “Basurahan sa Jeepney,” telling drivers to dispose their garbage properly.

After the activity, the participants composing the locally-based Crudo group were each given a trash bin by M Lhuillier Philippines, which organized the symposium through its internal organization, OPEC Dagyang.

The trash bins will be placed at the back of the driver’s seat so passengers can easily throw their garbage.
