2 robbers die for P40 loot
Two robbery suspects were killed in what the police said was a shootout after they ran off with a woman’s handbag Friday night in Barangay Doña Imelda, Quezon City.
The bag, when recovered near their bullet-riddled bodies, turned out to contain nothing more than the woman’s IDs and cash amounting to P40, police said.
The tandem remained unidentified as of Saturday, according to P02 Anthony Tejerero of the Quezon City Police District’s Galas station.
They were described to be between 35 and 40 years old, of medium build, fair-skinned and sporting tattoos.
Mary Joy Calimag, a 30-year-old security guard, was walking home on Lantayan Street around 7:40 p.m. when she encountered the two men who appeared to be fixing a black motorcycle on the sidewalk.
As she went past the men, one of them approached her, pointed a gun to her face and ordered her to hand over the bag, Tejerero said.
