SM City Consolacion and the Philippine Postal Office in Cebu will observe the National Letter Writing Day on Oct. 9 with various activities.
Simultaneous letter writing by high school students will happen in select SM Supermalls nationwide.
Called “Sulat Mulat,” this postal awareness campaign aims to develop the writing skills of the students, promote positivism among the youth by appreciating the good deeds instead of criticizing each other, develop the habit of thanking someone through letters, strengthen their passion for letter writing despite the existence of modern means of communications, like cellular phones and social network, and to foster love, friendship and strong family ties.
A short program will open the celebration at 10 a.m. in SM City Consolacion’s Event Centre.
At 10:30 a.m., participating students will begin writing letters to their family, friends or teachers. The Philippine Postal Office in Cebu will mail the letters to the recipients.
