All set for CEPCA chess

THE 23rd Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) Anniversary Chess Open expects to draw the best wood pushers in Cebu this Oct. 12 and 13 at the SM City Cebu event center.

The tournament is organized by the members of CEPCA and is supported by chess patron Boojie Lim of Rose Pharmacy, Attorney Jennoh Tequillo, Andrew Aznar and Kelly Uy.

The nine-round Swiss system tournament will be having a 30-minute playing time each round with a five-second increment.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning wood pushers. The top wood pusher will walk away with P7,000 and a trophy while P5,000 will go to the second placer. The third placer gets P3,000.

The top three senior citizens, top three juniors, ladies and kids aged 15 years and below and 10 years and below will also receive cash prizes.

Registration fee is pegged at P200 for the regular players and P100 for the ladies and kiddies players.
