IMPORT Elijah Millsap and Alex Cabagnot keyed a late run to help the top-seeded Petron Blaze Boosters fend off a gritty Rain or Shine Elasto Painters side, 91-83, in Game 1 of their best-of-five PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Down 73-77 halfway through the fourth, Millsap caught fire after being slapped with a technical foul for second motion and scored 11 straight points in an 11-6 run to give Petron an 84-83 lead under the final two minutes of the game.

Cabagnot put the game away with a three-pointer at the 1:16 mark while Cebuano Junemar Fajardo hit two freethrows and Arwind Santos sank a jumper for the final score.

Millsap finished with a game-high 41 points, Cabagnot added 18 while Fajardo chipped in 15. Arizona Reid led the fourth-seed Rain or Shine with 28. /copy editor Brian J. Ochoa
