Robbers strike twice in Quezon City

Robbers struck over the weekend, targeting two establishments at around the same time on Sunday afternoon in Quezon City and taking more than P400,000 in cash and valuables.

Based on police reports, the QC Llamas Gas Marketing shop on Kamias Road and the LBC branch at the corner of Edsa and Quezon Avenue were victimized by armed men at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Case investigator PO3 Rodolfo Ramos Jr. of the Anonas police station said the gas retailing store was robbed as it was about to close. Shop owner Luis Caluag and manager Antie Martinez told police that they were about to shut down the establishment when three men barged inside and declared a heist at gunpoint.

They cleaned out the shop, taking P370,600 in cash, laptops worth P46,000, cell phones worth P31,500 and even a surveillance camera and radio cassette recorder. At around the same time, two men also entered the LBC branch at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue, one of them wearing a face mask to conceal his identity.

Employees Michael Domingo and Franie Lozano said they were tallying up their revenues for the day when the two men walked in. One acted as a lookout, standing at the door while the other put on a mask and walked to the counter, gun in hand. Case investigator PO2 Wilmore Bataanon of the Kamuning police station said the second man asked the victims to turn over all the money in the establishment.
