Pael battles Posta in Pernes Cup boxing tonight
RAJAH Renoel Pael of Siquijor and Raul Posta of Bukidnon are all set for the 10-round main event of the 1st Congresswoman Dr. Anne Pernes Cup today at the Siquijor Capital Square.
Both boxers had no problems during the weigh-in held at the fight venue yesterday noon with Pael coming in at 110 pounds and Posta weighing 108 pounds. The match is a non-title contest.
The 22-year-old Pael is unbeaten with an 11-0-1 (win-loss-draw) with four knockouts record. He represents the Princesa Bulakna Resort of Maria, Siquijor and has previously held Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) titles. He also ruled the flyweight division of GMA TV’s Buhay Boksingero in 2011. Posta (8W-2L-2D, 2 KOs) has fought mostly in Mindanao.
The official weigh-in was supervised by Glen Agena of Games and Amusement Board-Cebu.
For the undercards, unbeaten Ardie Boyose Singwangcha (7W-0L) will fight Jessie Tuyor (3W-11L-4D) in a 10-round contest, Neil Tabanao Singwangcha will fight Elmar Francisco and Joey Canoy Singwangcha will face Gerald Tuyor . Gerpaul Valero will not be able to fight in this card so his scheduled opponent, Jomar Ministerio, will face Bryan Samson of Siquijor. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre, Jr.
