Experts to hold forum for firecracker makers

ACCREDITED pyrotechnics and firecracker manufacturers in Central Visayas will have a chance to learn to improve their products from experts in the industry through a fireworks safety seminar this Friday at the Crown Regency Suites in Mactan.

Engineer Celso Cruz, Philippine Pyrotechnics Manufacturers and Dealers Association Inc. (PPMDAI) chairman emeritus, will lead the industry experts in discussing packaging, storage, transport, display, and safety guidelines of pyrotechnics and firecrackers to local manufacturers.

THE PPMDAI is a group based in Bulacan, which is considered the fireworks capital of the Philippines.

Representatives from the National Police Commission, Philippine National Police civil security group will also discuss the policies and guidelines regulating the sale, manufacture, distribution, and use of firecrackers.

Supt. Oscar Mayol, Lapu-Lapu City Fire Marshal, will tackle fire safety concerns during the seminar. /Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
