Goldberry guns for Shaabaa Mivesa Cup title today

/ 09:19 AM September 26, 2013

THE Goldberry Suites will gun for the championship crown today in the 2013 Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Mivesa Cup as they go for the kill in Game Two of the best-of-three finals against the Insular Square at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

The veteran Goldberry crew drew first blood against their young rivals, 53-52, in Game One, behind the gutsy performance of forward Jeremy Huang, the son of longtime basketball patron, Jack Huang, who scored a game-high 20 points.

More than the total was when the younger Huang scored his points as he did so during the game’s most crucial time. He scored eight in the payoff period including six of Goldberry’s last seven points. The game was tied for the last time at 50-all but big man Robert Gilo made a free-throw while Huang added a basket to put away Insular Square.
