FUGITIVE KILLED IN SHOOTOUT
After three years of being on the run, a fugitive was killed in a shootout with police in barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Rolando Abella Barliso allegedly fired at officers from the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) who tried to arrest him Monday night.
Senior Insp. Al Pascual, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said Barliso bolted the Minglanilla Police Station jail where he was detained for a rape complaint in 2010.
CIB operatives led by PO3 David Naraja, went to the man’s house to serve an arrest warrant issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Fiel Navarro.
Pascual said Barliso resisted arrest that triggered the shootout. Barliso was hit in the head, chest and legs.
