Lutong Garbo opens to local chefs in Negros Or.
THE 8th ‘Lutong Garbo’ grand cook match is now open to all Negrenses for this year’s Buglasan Festival on Oct. 12 at the Provincial Agriculturist Office in Dumaguete City.
The Buglasan Festival Lutong Garbo committee chairperson Sylvia Uy called on local government units and institutions which have potential master chefs to submit their entries for the cooking competition on or before the first week of October.
Uy said this food festival features ingredients indigenous to the area represented by the contestants to promote Negros Oriental’s native cuisine.
The winners will receive a trophy and P10,000 for the first prize, P7,000 for the second prize and P5,000 for the third prize.
Non-winners will each receive a consolation prize of P2,500 cash and a certificate of appreciation.
Local culinary talents are encouraged to participate in the challenge with an endorsement from the local chief executive or head of an institution. The contestant is required to cook a recipe good for 10 persons.

Participants are asked to submit their entry form and recipe to the Provincial Tourism Office, Sidlakang Negros Village, Dumaguete City.
