In later radio interview, Khonghun said the number of casualties rose to six.
The Subic Mayor said the three still unidentified individuals were killed in a landslide that buried seven houses in Barangay Wawandue in Subic, Zambales.
He said another landslide was reported 6 a.m. at Barangay San Isidro, also in Subic.
Khonghun said they are still trying to recover the people, around 10 individuals for the first incident and six for the second, believed trapped inside the buried houses.
The Mayor appealed to the national government to send help for evacuees and those that still needed to be rescued.
“I am calling on the national government. I hope they would give due attention to our problem, especially the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) and the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways),” he said.
Khonghun said they have already declared a state of calamity in Subic earlyMonday as they remain “isolated” because of the more than 5-feet high floods.
