CRUCIAL victories are at stake in the penultimate playdate of the 38th PBA Governors’ Cup tonight at the Araneta Coliseum.
The San Mig Coffee Mixers face the Meralco Bolts in the first game while the GlobalPort Batang Pier take on the Barangay Ginebra Kings in the main game.
Both toting 5-3 (win-loss) cards, the Coffee Mixers and the Bolts have already booked quarterfinal tickets. The two teams, however, still need to get a win twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals.
Tournament format states that the top four quarterfinalists will be twice-to-beat against their lower-ranked foes. Two teams will be booted out after the eliminations.
The league-leading Petron Blaze Boosters are already assured of a twice-to-beat advantage after ending the eliminations with eight wins with only a single loss.
