GUARD CHRIS Banchero emerged as the first pick of the PBA D-League’s first ever draft as he was selected by Boracay Rum yesterday at the PBA office.
Boracay Rum was actually picking third but Café France and Cebuana Lhuillier decided to tie up with difference schools for this particular season, which kicks off next month.
Café France, partnering with the Centro Escolar University, tabbed former University of Southern Philippines Foundation star Joseph Sedurifa, while Cebuana Lhuillier, with the University of the East as their partner school, chose Roi Sumang.
Big Chill chose Perpetual Help super rookie Juneric Baloria with the second pick while former University of the Visayas stalwart and Cesafi slam dunk king Andrew Avillanoza was picked third by the defending champions Blackwater Sports.
Two other Cebuanos got picked as Hog’s Breath chose former University of Cebu ace Francis Bercede while Cagayan Valley nabbed another former Green Lancer in Rene Saycon. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
