WOMAN FOUND HANGING DEAD

A WOMAN was found hanging by the neck inside her house in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City, last Friday night.

Pemelio Balaod, 29, was found with a rope tied around her neck . The other end was tied to a wooden beam.

Police said  Balaod’s nephew found the woman’s body in the kitchen about  9:30 p.m.

Police said there were no indications of foul play in the woman’s death.

WOMAN DROWNS OFF SIBONGA

THE body of a woman was found a day after she fell from a wharf in barangay Poblacion, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.

Melissa dela Cruz, 30, was found in the shoreline of barangay Simala around 11 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the woman, who was epileptic, was seen wandering in the wharf on Friday afternoon and may have fallen in.

Policemen and firefighters conducted a search-and-rescue operation but failed to locate the woman’s body.

It was only yesterday that a concerned citizen reported the discovery of the body to the Sibonga police. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
