Timeline: Cross court play
July 15 – Scott Aying is part of the line-up submitted by USC for the junior’s division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi).
July 19 – Cesafi sends approval of USC’s 15-player line-up, “confirming that all of its athletes including (Scott Aying) were qualified to play in the 13th Cesafi season”.
August 2 – USC receives a letter from the Cesafi screening committee stating that Aying is disqualified to play for the Baby Warriors for lack of residency.
August 3 – Cesafi 2013 season opens. Commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy Jr. stops USC Baby Warriors head coach Britt Reroma from fielding Aying in their game against the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers in the first game at the Cebu Coliseum.
Tiukinhoy recommends that the coach be suspended for one year for “unethical conduct” and acting arrogantly.
August 5 – Aying’s parents, the USC coaching staff, USC Basic Education Department (BED) officials write to the Cesafi executive board seeking a reinvestigation on why the Cesafi screening committee overturned its earlier decision on Aying’s eligibility.

August 23 – Head coach Reroma of USC apologizes to Cesafi’s Felix Tiukinhoy for trying to fiield a player whose eligibility was under question. He said he thought it was okay to field Aying since USC was able to give an explanation letter to Tiukinhoy.
“I really didn’t have any intention to put the Cesafi in a bad light. Thus, I assure you that it won’t happen again,” Reroma said.
Sept. 6 – Cesafi president Fr. Manny Uy issues Reroma a “strong warning”. Tiukinhoy withdraws his recommendation to suspend the coach
Sept. 13 – Scott Aying’s parents go to court on behalf of their son
Sept. 16 – RTC Judge Simeon Dumdum Jr. orders Cesafi “to allow Scott Aying to play beginning today in the games of the 13th Cesafi Season”. The Temporary Restraining Order expires after 20 days.
