CDU tossers cap elimination drive with a bang

THE belles of the Cebu Doctor’s University completed their gem of a stint in the elimination round as they routed the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Lady Panthers last Tuesday night in the 2013 Cesafi women’s volleyball tournament at the USPF gym in Lahug.

CDU, transformed from doormats to virtual contenders under the tutelage of Fr. Rolando T. Manayon, asserted themselves over the Lady Panthers, 25-19, 25-17, 25-12, to end their campaign in this round with a 4-1 (win-loss) record. They will hold the second seed in the semis and are expected to face the University of San Jose-Recoletos Lady Jaguars.

In spite of the loss, USPF remains in contention for the last seat in the next round.

In the girl’s division, the University of San Carlos completed a sweep of the elims with a 25-19, 25-20 win over USPF. The win was USC’s fifth in a row while USPF ended their stint with just a win to go with their four losses. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
