Lao rules BTA Nat’l Open

PHILIPPINE Team member Kimberly Lao dominated the recent 14th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Classic National Open over the weekend at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Lao, who played for BTA-PRIMA, finished with 403 pinfalls to win the event over Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association’s (CETBA) Omar Marsangca, who knocked down 387 pins in the best-of-two round final match. Davao Tenpin Bowling Association’s (DATBA) Rene Dalayon bowed to Lao in the semifinal round after losing, 352-402. Marsangca edged Dante Calipay of BTA-55 AB, 421-392.

Dalayon and Calipay claimed third and fourth places, respectively. Calipay also emerged the best senior citizen bowler of the tournament. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
