USC tertiary tankers claim 32 gold medals

The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors finished strong in yesterday’s Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. swimming competition at the Cebu City Aquatics Center at the Cebu City Sports Center.

USC’s tertiary team finished with 32 gold medals along with 14 silvers medals after two days of competition.

The Warriors added 15 more gold medals and seven silvers yesterday to complete their dominance in the sport.

Myles Loannis Chi bagged four gold medals for USC by topping the 50-meter and 100m back strokes and 100m and 50m freestyle events.

Chi finished the tournament with a total of five gold medals, including a gold medal she won earlier in the 200m backstroke last Saturday.

Loren Dale Echavez also finished with a total of five gold medals after adding two golds yesterday in the 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle events.

Other gold medalists for USC yesterday were Abigail Saquib (50m backstroke), Cynthjune Goden (200m breaststroke) and Jesse Arriola Jr. (400m freestyle). USC’s relay teams also lorded over the men’s 200m medley relay, men and women’s 800m freestyle relay, men’s 200m butterfly, the men’s 200m freestyle relay and the women’s 200m freestyle relay.

The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, meanwhile, ruled the secondary division after hauling a total of 15 gold medals, nine silvers and one bronze medal.
