Remains of journalist Raul Beltran transferred to Batangas hometown

MANILA, Philippines — The remains of veteran journalist Raul Beltran were transferred this Saturday morning at his hometown in Nasugbu, Batangas in time for his interment on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Beltran died Tuesday morning from a three-month bout with lung cancer at the Lung Center of the Philippines. He was 62.

President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III paid his last respects to Beltran of the Journal Group of Publications at the St. Peter Memorial Chapel along Commonwealth Avenue in Tandang Sora, Quezon City Thursday afternoon.

Beltran covered President Aquino during his nine-year (1998-2007) stint as member of the House of Representatives.
