OZ Racing’s DROP National Series Round 5 kicks off today
MORE than a hundred race dare devils will take the challenge in the fifth leg of the OZ Racing Descent Force, DROP National Series Round 5, which will unfold today and tomorrow in barangay Cansamuroy, Balamban town, southwest Cebu.
The mountainbike-downhill race will feature the open, expert, 40-above, 30-above, 20-above and 19-below categories as well as a locals category.
Tan Hong Chun, a top Singaporean rider who saw action in the 2005 pre-Southeast Asian Games in Danao City, will go up against Dumaguete City’s JR Barba and hope to end the latter’s stranglehold of the expert category since the first leg of the series.
The race will kick off with the usual practice ride of the riders while the tournament proper will commence at 12 noon. The race will be held at the Canso X Mountain Adventure Park. The next leg will be in Ormoc City on Oct. 21. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
